InterviewWITH THE BAND

We asked the difficult questions.
Lunch continued.

What are you rebelling against?
(chewing)
Would you describe your approach as instinctive, or is there a wider philosophy behind the pulling?
(pulls harder)
There’s a real tension in the work. Is that a conscious rejection of the scene’s expectations, or is the strip just particularly difficult?
(chewing)
Before we let you get back to it, what would you say to anyone who thinks this whole thing might simply be lunch?
(no comment, mouth full)

Interview ends here.
The meal does not.

A rare moment of
complete cooperation.

THE ONLY THING HE’S FIGHTING.

Gig review

DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE CROWD.

Arrived with the biggest mop in the tank. Did not acknowledge the crowd. Spent the entire set fighting one white strip and winning, slowly.

Five stars. Still not finished.

There was no opening act. There was no interval. At one point we thought he had finished. He adjusted his grip.

★★★★★

We stayed for the encore.
It was more lunch.
